Leinfelden-Echterdingen, 25. June 2024. EBE sensor + motion is expanding its encoder product range and introducing two new members of the BGE25 family. These are characterized by particularly user-friendly integration, a haptically pleasant magnetic detent and wear-free HALL-sensory rotary motion detection.
The BGE25 HMI rotary encoder, which has been tried and tested for many years, is a robust and versatile encoder that is used successfully in various areas such as precision measuring devices, medical equipment, industrial control applications and construction machinery. The BGE25 is characterized by numerous advantages. These include the wear-free magnetic detent that is designed to even allow follow-up movement, the stainless steel housing and the stainless steel axis, the wear-free HALL sensory scanning of rotation and button as well as waterproofness for applications on the high seas.
Flexible Installation due to Spring Connection
However, despite all its advantages, the connection using ribbon cables and special connectors was a frequent problem when integrating the BGE25 into small series of special machines or off-road vehicles. Due to the wide range of requirements for connectors and cable lengths, it has not always been possible to provide the right model for every application. EBE sensor+motion has now solved this problem by introducing a more user-friendly interface: the spring connection.
The spring connection enables quick and easy configuration of the BGE25 and follows the company’s principle of robustness and durability. Equipped with the spring connection, the encoder supports conductor cross-sections from 0.2mm² to 0.5mm² (AWG24 to AWG20). This not only guarantees a high degree of flexibility in installation, but also compliance with strict industry standards, such as vibration tests in accordance with IEC 60068-2-6:1995-03. The operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +85°C. In addition, mountability at temperatures from -5°C to +55°C is guaranteed.
Series for Different Supply Voltages
The BGE25 with spring connection is initially available in two versions: one series for 24V DC and one for 5V DC supply voltage, each with 24 latching positions. The version with 24V supply voltage is particularly suitable for direct installation in control cabinets or for simple integration into existing control components. The signal output comprises an A/B track signal for the rotary movement including direction of rotation detection as well as a push-button signal generated by HALL-sensor. This combination of robustness, durability and easy handling makes the BGE25 with spring connection an ideal solution for demanding applications in a wide range of industrial sectors.
