EBE sensors + motion presents the new miniature encoder BGE16 RT: Wear-free HMI signal generation with super-haptic feedback

11. November 2024

Leinfelden-Echterdingen, November 12, 2024. EBE sensors + motion is expanding its product range with the innovative miniature encoder BGE16 RT, which has been specifically developed for use in human-machine interfaces (HMI). The new encoder is based on HALL-sensoric signal generation and offers a first-class haptic experience through a wear-free magnetic detent mechanism.

The BGE16 RT stands out due to its wear-free operation. Both the detent and the integrated pushbutton are generated by contactless magnets, making them wear-free. The rotary and tactile signals are detected by a Hall sensor. In particular, the pushbutton does not require an additional internal mechanical contact plate, which further increases the system’s lifespan and makes it particularly resistant to shocks, vibrations and even vandalism. Another feature of the encoder is its high precision. The BGE16 RT can be configured with either 16 or 24 detents per revolution, enabling precise and fine adjustment. In addition, the encoder can be adapted to various requirements thanks to a robust stainless steel shaft with a diameter of 4 mm, making it flexible for integration into a wide range of systems. If required, the 4 mm shaft can also be adapted to a diameter of 6 mm.

Compact Design with a Wide Range of Applications

With a compact housing diameter of just 16 mm, the BGE16 RT offers the same functions as the larger BGE25 model, but in a much smaller space. This makes it an ideal choice for applications where compact design is required. The M10x0.75 mm central mounting and the customizable cable plug also make installation easier in a range of applications. The BGE16 RT provides reliable A/B rotary signals and a switching signal, operating at an operating voltage of 5 V DC. Thanks to this versatile signal output it is suited for a wide range of applications in measurement technology, the mechanical engineering industry, medical technology and other demanding industrial areas where precision and durability are paramount. With the BGE16 RT EBE Sensors + Motion offers a solution that combines the highest precision, reliability and outstanding haptic feedback.
