Precise Level Measurement for Industry and Process Technology – CORTEC® Level Switch from EBE

9. May 2023

EBE sensors + motion introduces a new generation of CorTEC® sensor technology, further advancing possibilities in industrial level measurement. The sensor technology is capable of measuring levels even in viscous media or with minimal dielectric constants. Even when dealing with challenging substances like foam, the sensor can detect them or, if necessary, filter them out. This new sensor is particularly well-suited for industrial and process engineering applications, especially in the fields of food, pharmaceuticals, and chemistry.

The new limit switches enable precise level measurement for a wide range of media. Thanks to specialized algorithms, the sensors measure a wide variety of substances with exceptional precision, including powders and other solids, oils, conductive liquids, cleaning agents, and even highly viscous materials such as honey or pastes. Media with very low dielectric constants (εr < 2) can also be reliably detected by EBE CorTEC® sensors. Even when the sensor is completely surrounded by the substance, it is capable of recognizing the level. The limit switch can detect and, if necessary, filter out challenging media like foam, ensuring consistently precise and reliable measurements even under demanding conditions.

Customization options for individual applications.

The compact design of the PCB allows the sensor to be adaptable to a wide range of OEM housing requirements. It can also be tailored to fit into very small spaces. The software can be customized to meet customer needs for various output signals, such as IO-Link, Bluetooth, UART, or PWM. A variety of supporting functions can be integrated as needed, including auto-calibration, temperature compensation, or custom setpoints. This makes it possible to customize the sensor to meet virtually any user’s requirements.

Wide range of applications in industry and process engineering.

The new sensors are particularly well-suited for the industrial and process engineering sectors, especially in the fields of food, pharmaceuticals, and chemistry. In these industries, precise level measurement is essential for compliance with standards and production safety. The sensors can be used in various applications, such as monitoring tanks and containers, dosing systems, or liquid filling processes. The sensors ensure accurate and reliable level measurement even with challenging media and conditions. As a result, EBE CorTEC® limit switches contribute to higher quality and safety in production and enable more efficient utilization of resources.
