High-Resolution Sensors for Path, Distance, Position, Angle
Micrometer, millimeter, one degree or one tenth of a degree? The inductive measurement system induTEC® from EBE can handle the desired units. Low-cost sensors based on the induTEC® technology measure path, distance, position and angle. They combine robust design and low costs for parts and components. The inductive sensors are suitable for numerous applications. These include intelligent opening modules in appliances, pressure and position sensors.
induTEC® determines the resonance of a set-up by measuring coils. If a metallic or permeable target is placed near the sensor an induction of eddy currents occurs. The inductivity changes. By means of the resulting detuning of the resonance frequency the relative position of the target to the sensor can be determined.
EBE develops and produces differential coil structures. They easily compensate temperature and aging influences as well as the scattering of components.
Equally, the optimum signal deviation can be developed. Our powerful 3D field simulator CST Studio Suite for designing the coil geometry serves this purpose.
Sensors can be designed more cost-efficient by realizing the coils as PCB-inductivities. The arrangement thus requires less space. Sensitivity and tolerances are sufficient for many applications. The manufacturing costs for the winding and contacting of external coils are avoided.
In some applications it can still make sense to resort to wound sensor coils. This solution allows for additional degrees of freedom in forming the magnetic measuring field. In these cases winding and potting machines for a professional production of the sensor elements are at EBE’s disposal.
OEM-Development of Inductive Precision Sensors
As an OEM-partner EBE develops and produces appropriate high-resolution sensors based on the induTEC® technology. They are appropriate for price-sensitive applications and high-volume products. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
The inductive measurement system and the coil structure can be precisely specified within the framework of the OEM-development. In this way the sensors ensure the desired position for determining path, distance, position or angle. Furthermore, EBE integrates the inductive position or angle sensors into the respective module or housing. Likewise, EBE combines the sensor system with switches, motors, gears, levers and other mechanisms.
