At EBE, we are currently celebrating a unique milestone. Employee Ingeborg Pommer is marking her 60th company anniversary, having been with the company for nearly its entire existence.
The company EBE Elektro-Bau-Elemente GmbH was founded in the year 1950. At that time, the company was located in Möhringen and initially focused on the development of measuring and testing equipment. In 1962, at the age of 18, Ingeborg Pommer joined the company as an employee in the switchgear department, recruited by her mother. She says, ‘Due to health reasons, I had to give up my dream profession as a seamstress. My mother also persuaded me to consider EBE. Although I was initially unsure about working in electrical production, I ended up really enjoying the work on-site.’ Since then, Ingeborg Pommer has been working for the company, accompanying it through its history.
After the birth of her daughter in 1971, the then management and production team came to her home to congratulate her warmly. They brought with them a splendid gift basket and asked if she could imagine continuing to produce encoders from home. She agreed on the spot. From that point on, Ingeborg Pommer produced the products from her home, long before the term ‘Home Office’ was coined. And she continues to do so to this day. Even her retirement 13 years ago did not change that. Since then, she has continued to work for EBE on a part-time basis. When asked if she had ever considered giving up making encoders, she says, ‘In retirement, it’s very valuable to have a task that structures the week. Besides, EBE is my extended family.’ Over the years, she has found cherished colleagues, many of whom have also been with the company for decades.

Such an anniversary is truly unique,” says Armin Wellhöfer, CEO of EBE since 2018. “We have many long-serving employees whom we greatly appreciate. Such loyalty to an employer is no longer a given these days.” The entire EBE company extends heartfelt congratulations to Ingeborg Pommer on her service anniversary and wishes for many more years of collaboration ahead.

Short Company Profile
The company EBE Elektro-Bau-Elemente GmbH (brand name: EBE sensors + motion) based in Leinfelden-Echterdingen near Stuttgart develops and manufactures OEM-products in the fields of sensor technology, components for HMI-interfaces as well as actuator and mechatronics technology. The focus lies on capacitive and inductive sensors based on the technologies developed in-house and mechatronic solutions for industry, appliances, medicine and mobility. The sensor program also includes level sensors, pressure sensors, position sensors and capacitive buttons. Furthermore, EBE develops and manufactures customer-specific solenoids and robust rotary switches, buttons and encoders and adapts them to the customer requirements.
